The Fixer(2009)
"The Fixer" is the third song from Pearl Jam's ninth album, Backspacer. Written collectivelly by Eddie Vedder, Matt Cameron, Mike McCready, and Stone Gossard, the song was released as a single on August 24, 2009 and it is probably the most well known song of their last album to date.

Despite the lyrics, Vedder commented on the song that "Men, we all think we can fix anything. It's not necessarily a good thing. In a relationship, a woman will say 'This is wrong,' and we're like, 'I'll fix that, don't worry about it, we can fix it.' These wonderful people, the woman you're in a relationship with, they don't want you to fix it. They just want you to listen to what's happening: 'Don't fix it, I want you to own this with me - feel it.' This is a reminder song to me, to stop fixing."[1]
Analysis[]
The song's theme is basically the feelings of a protagonist who always want to fix everything on life. Where things look down, broken, sad and maybe hopeless, the main figure finds a way to turn the situation on the extreme opposite. This person is extremely positive and affirms that no matter what bad thing happens, there will always be a feeling of fixing, and if something gets lost throughout life, this person will fight to get it back again.
